Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) is gearing up to host the first round of National Race Day this Friday, featuring three exciting national championships. The day’s events will be headlined by the all-new 2024/2025 Bahrain Touring Car Challenge (BTCC), along with the 2024/2025 Bahrain Motorcycle Championship (BMC) and Time Attack. The track temperatures are set to heat up as top-class local competition takes to the 2.55-kilometre Inner Track at BIC. The events will kick off at 1.15pm and continue until 9.30pm, providing thrilling day-to-night racing for both competitors and fans.
Organised and run by BIC in cooperation with various automotive commissions, National Race Day promises an action-packed day of racing. Tickets are priced at BD2 for adults and BD1 for children, offering spectators the chance to watch some of Bahrain’s best racers compete in the highly competitive series. The BTCC, which replaces the BIC 2,000cc Challenge, welcomes new participants with more flexible regulations and reduced costs for drivers. Competitors in the BTCC have already had a test day at BIC to prepare for the upcoming season, which will feature a practice session, qualifying, and two 15-lap races.
In addition to the four-wheeled action, the BMC will see riders battling it out in two classes – the 1,000cc and 600cc. The round will include a practice, qualifying, and a single 14-lap race, with a total of 13 riders set to compete in the 1,000cc class and 12 in the 600cc class. Time Attack, featuring competition in six categories, will see drivers aiming to set their fastest lap times to secure their positions amongst the field. With multiple rounds scheduled throughout the 2024/2025 season, National Race Day is set to provide an exciting and competitive platform for local motorsport enthusiasts.
