The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change in Qatar has authorized new local entities and companies to provide radiation protection services to institutions that use radioactive materials and radiation-emitting devices in their activities. This includes industrial companies, medical centers, and hospitals. The Radiation Protection Department has published a list of authorized entities on the ministry’s website. These services include maintenance and adjustment of radiation-emitting devices, individual dose measurement services for workers, consulting services in radiation protection, and training courses on safety procedures.

To obtain a license to provide radiation protection services, the Radiation Protection Department conducts comprehensive studies to authorize these entities, whether they are governmental or private institutions. They verify the legal validity of their documents and employees’ documents, as well as ensure the technical safety of their equipment. The department also confirms that the training courses for employees comply with national standards. This process is intended to ensure the highest levels of security and safety for companies and entities working in the peaceful fields of radioactive materials and radiation-emitting devices.

Having proper radiation protection services in place is crucial for ensuring the safety of workers and the public who may be exposed to radioactive materials. By authorizing local entities to provide these services, the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change is taking proactive steps to regulate the use of such materials and devices in Qatar. This not only benefits the companies and entities seeking licenses but also helps to protect the environment and public health.

By offering services such as maintenance and adjustment of radiation-emitting devices, individual dose measurement, consulting, and training courses, these authorized entities are contributing to a safer working environment for those in the medical and industrial fields. The radiation protection services provided by these entities play a vital role in preventing leakage of radioactive materials and ensuring that workers are properly trained in safety procedures.

Ensuring that employees of these authorized entities comply with national standards and receive proper training is essential for maintaining the highest levels of security and safety. The verification process conducted by the Radiation Protection Department helps to weed out any potential risks or non-compliance issues. This not only protects the workers and public but also helps to uphold the reputation of Qatar as a safe place to work with radioactive materials.

Overall, the efforts of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change to authorize local entities to provide radiation protection services are commendable. By prioritizing security and safety in the use of radioactive materials and radiation-emitting devices, Qatar is setting an example of responsible regulatory practices. With proper radiation protection services in place, companies and entities can operate confidently knowing that they are meeting the necessary requirements and standards to ensure the well-being of their workers and the public.
