More than 3000 students from Dubai schools recently gathered to pack school kits for children from low-income families in the UAE. The second phase of Dubai Cares’ Students For Students initiative saw volunteers pack 9,000 school kits that will be distributed to various charity schools and organizations, such as Al Etihad Charity Foundation, Al Ihsan Charity Association, Hemaya Schools, and National Charity Schools, before the new academic year.

Hassan Sawalmeh from the National Charity Schools mentioned that the initiative has a significant impact on students from low-income families, bringing joy and happiness to their hearts. For volunteers, the initiative fosters a sense of purpose and community, allowing them to develop skills and gain respect and recognition. This initiative is a way to promote humanitarian values and support the community, and Dubai Cares is highly appreciated for leading such efforts.

Over 3,500 student volunteers, teachers, parents, and family members came together to support underprivileged children’s education. Students like Arianna Abraham from Jumeirah College are delighted to be part of such initiatives, as they see the importance of supporting local charities that address the needs of the community in the UAE. The hope is that these backpacks and school kits will be a pleasant surprise for the recipients in the new school year.

In the first phase of the initiative, students from different schools organized events like spring fairs, bake sales, and games to raise funds, resulting in over Dh700,000 being raised. Dubai Cares utilized these funds to purchase essential school supplies like school bags and stationery. The organization was impressed by the spirit and dedication shown by the 14 participating schools, as the students, teachers, and parents put in hard work to positively impact many children’s lives.

According to Abdulla Ahmed Alshehhi, Chief Operating Officer at Dubai Cares, the feedback about the initiative has been promising, with students feeling involved and empowered to make a difference. The organization thanks all participating schools and students for their efforts and looks forward to more schools participating in future initiatives. Participants like Leanne Fridd, principal of Safa Community School, expressed pride in their students’ leadership skills and fundraising efforts, highlighting the impact of Dubai Cares’ initiatives on the community.

In conclusion, the Students For Students initiative by Dubai Cares has brought together thousands of students, teachers, parents, and volunteers to support underprivileged children’s education in the UAE. The community’s dedication and hard work have ensured that many children will have the necessary tools for a successful academic year. Through impactful initiatives like this, Dubai Cares continues to promote humanitarian values, foster a sense of community, and empower students to make positive contributions to society. The organization looks forward to engaging more schools and students in similar activities in the future.
