The Ministry of Health in Muscat recently signed an agreement with Renardet SA (Consulting Engineers) to design the National Centre for Women and Children’s Health at Sultan Haitham City. The agreement, valued at OMR1.3 million, signifies the initial steps being taken to implement the SHC project and elevate healthcare services in the modern city. The signing ceremony was attended by key officials, including Undersecretary Sulaiman Nasser Al Haji and Managing Director Lorenzo Nicolai, with a focus on delivering improved health services for women and children that align with SHC’s commitment to comprehensive healthcare.
The agreement with Renardet SA encompasses consulting services, studies, surveys, and the design of master plans to enhance the quality of health services for women and children at SHC. Additionally, a significant agreement worth over RO 90 million was signed for the construction of a referral hospital with 800 beds and the National Centre for Women and Children’s Health with a capacity of 500 beds. Sultan Haitham City has designated a vast area of one million square metres for healthcare facilities, including the referral hospital, the National Center for Women and Children’s Health, Oman Health College, the Higher Institute for Health Sciences, and Oman Medical Specialty Board.
