The Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology in Oman recently signed an agreement for the construction of the Al Mughsayl Road and Bridge project, which is expected to cost over OMR 9 million. The project will involve the construction of a concrete bridge that measures 630 meters in length, supported by 20 piers and two side abutments that are 13 meters high. The bridge will feature six decorative arches, with the two largest arches rising to 45.9 meters and the remaining arches to 35.9 meters. The project also includes parking areas on both sides, a pedestrian walkway with lighting, and an at-grade crossing to facilitate access to other tourist sites.

The signing of the agreement took place with the presence of His Excellency Engineer Said bin Hamoud Al Maawali, Minister of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology, and Engineer Syed Azher from AZ Engineers. The construction of the Al Mughsayl Road and Bridge project is expected to enhance traffic flow from Salalah to the western districts of Dhofar Governorate, including Rakhyout and Dhalkut. This route is also significant as an international route leading to the border crossing with the Republic of Yemen. The location of the bridge site is of tourist significance due to its proximity to Marneef Cave, Mughsayl Fountains, and the Mughsayl beachfront.

The Al Mughsayl Road and Bridge project is part of the Ministry’s efforts to improve infrastructure and connectivity in the region. The construction of the bridge will not only facilitate smoother traffic flow but also provide access to popular tourist destinations in the area. The inclusion of parking areas, a pedestrian walkway, and an at-grade crossing will further enhance the accessibility and convenience for visitors and locals alike. The project is expected to have a positive impact on the local economy by encouraging tourism and economic development in the region.

The agreement for the construction of the Al Mughsayl Road and Bridge project demonstrates the government’s commitment to investing in infrastructure development and promoting tourism in Oman. The project is expected to create job opportunities during the construction phase and boost economic activity in the region. The construction of the bridge is also aligned with the government’s vision to enhance connectivity and accessibility in the country, which will ultimately contribute to the overall development and prosperity of Oman.

In conclusion, the signing of the agreement for the construction of the Al Mughsayl Road and Bridge project marks a significant milestone in the efforts to improve infrastructure and connectivity in Oman. The project is expected to have far-reaching benefits, including enhancing traffic flow, promoting tourism, and creating job opportunities. The construction of the bridge will not only improve accessibility to popular tourist destinations but also contribute to the overall economic development of the region. The Ministry’s commitment to investing in infrastructure projects like the Al Mughsayl Road and Bridge underscores its dedication to promoting sustainable development and prosperity in Oman.
