The Ministry of Interior in Bahrain is taking steps to ensure safety standards in commercial establishments by conducting inspections. During the first half of this year, the Civil Defense’s Department of Protection and Safety reviewed 2584 commercial registrations through inspection campaigns across 823 establishments. This included collaborative campaigns targeting 212 facilities across various governorates. The department conducted a total of 1952 routine inspections and 2120 random inspections to ensure businesses are adhering to safety regulations, including fire safety measures and building codes.

To further prioritize safety, the department has issued 559 licenses for fire and door equipment, guaranteeing that these essential safety features meet the highest standards. They have also issued 102 licenses for fire and safety equipment, ensuring that businesses are equipped to handle emergencies. In addition, the department has issued 5 licenses for technical offices operating in the field of civil defense and 30 licenses for companies specializing in the installation and maintenance of alarm and fire extinguishing systems. These measures are aimed at ensuring that critical safety systems are functioning effectively and that businesses are prepared to handle emergencies effectively.

By conducting comprehensive reviews and inspections of commercial establishments, the Department of Protection and Safety is demonstrating its commitment to ensuring safety standards are met. These efforts are critical in preventing accidents and disasters, particularly in the event of a fire emergency. Through proactive inspection campaigns and issuing licenses for essential safety equipment, the department is playing a crucial role in supporting the industry and ensuring businesses are compliant with safety regulations.

The department’s dedication to safety is further underscored by its licensing program, which guarantees that businesses are equipped with the necessary safety features to protect against potential fire hazards. By issuing licenses for fire and door equipment, as well as fire and safety equipment, the department is ensuring that businesses have the tools and resources they need to handle emergencies effectively. Additionally, issuing licenses for technical offices and companies specializing in alarm and fire extinguishing systems further enhances safety measures in commercial establishments.

Ensuring that businesses are adhering to safety regulations is essential in safeguarding lives and property. By conducting routine and random inspections, the Department of Protection and Safety is proactively identifying potential safety hazards and ensuring that businesses are compliant with safety standards. Through the issuance of licenses for essential safety equipment and services, the department is providing businesses with the necessary resources to protect against emergencies and disasters. These efforts are crucial in promoting a culture of safety and ensuring that commercial establishments in Bahrain are adequately prepared to handle fire emergencies and other safety threats.
