The Embassy of India in Bahrain, along with the Odia community in the Kingdom, recently participated in the ‘International Week’ of Youth City 2024 organized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs in Bahrain. The exhibition stall set up by the Embassy showcased products from Odisha Tourism and the One District One Product initiative. The stall was part of the Embassy’s ‘Focus State/Union Territories’ initiative and aimed to promote cultural and economic exchange between India and Bahrain. His Excellency Ambassador Vinod K. Jacob and H.E. Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, visited the stall during the event.

The participation of the Embassy of India with the Odia community at the ‘International Week’ of Youth City 2024 in Bahrain highlights the strong cultural ties between the two countries. The exhibition stall served as a platform to showcase the rich cultural heritage of Odisha and the unique products of the One District One Product initiative. The initiative aims to promote local entrepreneurship and economic development by emphasizing on the production of indigenous products from different districts of India. This event provided an excellent opportunity for Bahraini and Indian youth to come together and learn about each other’s culture and traditions.

The presence of His Excellency Ambassador Vinod K. Jacob and H.E. Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi at the exhibition stall further emphasized the importance of cultural exchange and cooperation between India and Bahrain. Their visit to the stall not only encouraged the participants but also showcased the commitment of both countries to strengthen bilateral relations through cultural and economic partnerships. The initiative by the Embassy of India to focus on a particular state or union territory at such events helps in promoting the diverse culture and heritage of different regions of India to a global audience.
