The Small Vessel Registration Office, operated by the Ministry of Transportation in Bahrain, has seen a significant uptick in transactions in August 2024. Over 1,788 transactions were processed during the month, pointing to a steady interest in recreational boating and water activities in the Kingdom. The office managed a wide range of services, including issuing sailing licenses, registering boats, conducting technical inspections, transferring ownership, issuing license plates, registering jet skis, and more.

In July, the office also saw a high volume of transactions, with a total of 2,313 handled. This included new and renewed jet skis, navigation licenses, ship registrations, changes to license information, inspections, number plate issuances, ownership transfers, deletion certificates, and replacement certificates and licenses. These numbers highlight the important role that the Small Vessel Registration Office plays in ensuring the safety and compliance of small vessels operating in Bahrain.

Operating under Royal Decree (32) of 2020, the office oversees all vessels with a gross tonnage of less than 150 tons. It is a key player in supporting the growing boating and water sports sector in Bahrain, providing essential services for recreational boaters, fishing vessels, and jet ski owners. The office’s efficiency and effectiveness in handling a large number of transactions indicate its commitment to maintaining safety standards and supporting the maritime industry in the Kingdom.
