Qatari swimmers win 7 medals on first day in Cairo

Qatar’s swimming team has had a successful start to the 3rd Arab Aquatics Championships in Cairo, Egypt, claiming a total of seven medals on the first day of competition. Among these medals were two silver and five bronze, showcasing the team’s strength and skill in the pool.

Hamza Mahmoud and Abdullah Al Khaldi were the standout performers for Qatar, both winning silver medals in the 50m breaststroke events. Mahmoud claimed his silver in the 15-16 age group race, while Al Khaldi secured his silver in the 17-18 age group race. These impressive performances highlight the talent and potential of Qatar’s young swimmers.

In addition to the silver medals, Qatar’s swimmers also collected five bronze medals on the first day of competition. Mohammed Aziz, Tamim Mohammed, and Rashid Saad Al Rumaihi all put in strong performances to secure bronze medals in various events, showcasing the depth of talent within the team.

The relay teams also made their mark at the championships, with both the 15-16 age group team and the 17-18 age group team winning bronze medals in the 4X50m freestyle races. These results demonstrate the strength of Qatar’s team spirit and the ability of the swimmers to come together and perform as a cohesive unit.

Overall, Qatar’s swimming team has made a strong start to the 3rd Arab Aquatics Championships, with their impressive medal haul on the first day of competition setting them up for a successful tournament.
