The Ministry of Interior in Saudi Arabia recently announced the arrest of 15,324 illegal residents in the country during inspection raids conducted last week. Among these violators, 11,894 have already been deported. These arrests were made during joint field security campaigns carried out by security forces and government agencies between September 19 and September 25. Approximately 6,520 violators were referred to their diplomatic missions for travel documents, while 1,385 were referred to complete their travel reservations.

A significant number of arrests, totaling 1,226, were related to individuals attempting to cross the border into the Kingdom. Of these, 48 percent were Yemeni nationals, 51 percent Ethiopian nationals, and one percent belonged to other nationalities. Additionally, 116 people were apprehended while trying to leave the Kingdom illegally. Furthermore, four individuals who were involved in transporting, sheltering, and employing violators were also arrested.

The Ministry of Interior emphasized that anyone found facilitating the illegal entry of individuals into the Kingdom, providing transportation, shelter, or any other assistance may face severe penalties. These penalties include up to 15 years in prison, a fine of up to SR1 million, and confiscation of vehicles or properties used for illegal activities. To combat illegal immigration and trafficking, the ministry urged the public to report any violations by calling emergency numbers such as 911 in the regions of Makkah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, and 999 and 996 in other regions of the country.

The recent crackdown on illegal residents in Saudi Arabia highlights the government’s commitment to enforcing immigration laws and maintaining national security. By conducting joint field security campaigns, security forces and government agencies have been able to identify and apprehend thousands of violators. The deportation of over 11,000 individuals demonstrates the seriousness with which the authorities are addressing this issue.

With a significant number of arrests related to individuals attempting to cross borders illegally, the ministry’s efforts have also focused on preventing unauthorized entry into the Kingdom. The high number of Yemeni and Ethiopian nationals caught while trying to enter the country underscores the challenges posed by illegal immigration from neighboring countries. By apprehending those who facilitate illegal entry or provide support to violators, the government is sending a strong message against human trafficking and smuggling.

The penalties outlined by the Ministry of Interior serve as a deterrent to those who may consider engaging in illegal activities related to immigration. The threat of imprisonment, hefty fines, and confiscation of assets should discourage individuals from participating in activities that undermine national security. By encouraging the public to report any violations, the ministry is seeking to involve citizens in the efforts to combat illegal immigration and trafficking, emphasizing the importance of community cooperation in maintaining law and order.

As the crackdown on illegal residents continues, it is essential for individuals to adhere to immigration laws and regulations to avoid facing legal consequences. The Ministry of Interior’s warning against facilitating illegal entry and providing assistance to violators serves as a reminder of the serious penalties associated with such actions. By upholding the rule of law, Saudi Arabia aims to safeguard its borders, protect its citizens, and preserve national security, demonstrating a strong commitment to enforcing immigration laws and combating illegal activities within its borders.
