If you have recently moved to Abu Dhabi for work and want to bring your family to join you, it is possible for residents in the UAE to sponsor the residence visas of their family members. Whether you are working in the private sector or a freezone in Abu Dhabi, you can apply for your family’s visas through the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security (ICP). The application process can be done online through the TAMM website or mobile application, making it convenient and accessible for individuals.

When applying for your family’s visas, there are certain documents that are required. These include the passport of the sponsor and sponsored family member, a recent colored personal photo for the sponsored individual, the Emirates ID of the sponsor, and a rental contract with the sponsor’s name on it. These documents are essential to prove the relationship between the sponsor and the sponsored person, as well as the sponsor’s eligibility to support their family in the UAE.

In terms of fees, there are several costs that need to be considered when applying for a family residence visa. The eservice fee is Dh28, ICP fee is Dh22, issuance fee is Dh100, request fee is Dh100, and security deposits amount to Dh5025. These fees are mandatory and must be paid as part of the application process to ensure that the visa is processed and issued efficiently.

It is important to note a few key points when applying for a family residence visa in Abu Dhabi. Firstly, the passport of the sponsor and the sponsored individual must be valid for at least six months when applying for an entry permit. Additionally, proof of kinship and other documents such as a financial guarantee document may be requested by the ICP during the application process. The sponsored person does not have to be in the country to issue a residence visa, and if they enter the country on an entry permit, they can stay for 60 days until the residency is issued.

There are specific requirements for sponsoring a spouse in Abu Dhabi as well. The husband is not allowed to sponsor a wife who is under 18 years of age, and a certified marriage contract from the UAE Embassy or Ministry of Foreign Affairs is necessary. Proof of the relationship between the sponsor and the sponsored person, such as a birth certificate or marriage contract, must also be provided. In cases where the contract is in the husband’s name but the wife is the sponsor, a no-objection certificate from the husband is required.

In conclusion, applying for a family residence visa in Abu Dhabi is a straightforward process that requires specific documents, fees, and adherence to certain guidelines. By following the necessary steps and providing the required documentation, you can successfully sponsor your family’s visas and ensure that they can join you in Abu Dhabi.
