Led by a record score against Pakistan of 565, Bangladesh dominated the first innings and led by 117 runs. Spinners Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Shakib Al Hasan played a crucial role in dismissing Pakistan for just 146 runs on the final day of the Test match. Bangladesh then easily chased down the required 30 runs without losing a wicket, marking a momentous victory for the team. The win was particularly special for Najmul, who was celebrating his 26th birthday on the same day, and he expressed his joy at the team’s achievement.
Najmul praised his bowlers for their exceptional performance and singled out veteran batter Mushfiqur Rahim for his outstanding innings of 191 runs in the first innings. On the other hand, Pakistan skipper Shan Masood expressed his disappointment at the team’s poor performance and apologized to the Pakistani fans for not delivering the expected result.
