Winners of the Sultan Qaboos Award for Culture and Arts revealed

The Sultan Qaboos Higher Centre for Culture and Science recently announced the winners of the 11th edition of the Sultan Qaboos Award for Culture, Arts, and Literature in Muscat. This year’s prize was exclusively for Omanis, showcasing the local talent within the country. The winners were revealed by Habib Mohammed Al Riyami, the Head of the Sultan Qaboos Higher Centre for Culture and Science, at a press conference.

In the “Arts” category, the award went to a podcast titled “Witness Beyond the Ordinary” hosted by Ahmed Salim Al Kalbani. This radio program stood out for its creativity and innovation, showcasing a different perspective on art. In the “Literature” category, the award was given to a poetry collection titled “Maqamat Zulaykha” by poet Shamsa Abdullah Al Nu’mani, highlighting the power of classic Arabic poetry in today’s world.

However, the award was withheld in the field of studies in the Omani environment from the “Culture” branch, indicating the high standards set by the committee for this prestigious award. The Sultan Qaboos Award for Culture, Arts, and Literature was established following Royal Decree No. 18/2011, emphasizing the importance of promoting culture, arts, and literature within Oman and beyond.

The Sultan Qaboos Higher Centre for Culture and Science aims to recognize and support talented individuals who contribute to the cultural and artistic landscape of Oman. The award serves as a platform for showcasing the best works in various fields, encouraging creativity and innovation among Omani artists and writers.
