Vodafone Qatar and Microsoft sign agreement

In a recent agreement signing ceremony, Vodafone Qatar and Microsoft have sealed a five-year partnership deal that will pave the way for the transformation of Vodafone Qatar’s network and customer service operations. Through the deployment of Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Azure OpenAI, Vodafone Qatar aims to enhance its service offerings for both consumer and enterprise customers. One of the key benefits of this collaboration is the improved efficiency, scalability, and increased security of Vodafone’s data and applications.

As part of this transformative partnership, Vodafone Qatar will establish a generative AI center of excellence in Doha, leveraging Microsoft Azure OpenAI to improve and augment generative AI capabilities in its digital product offerings. Additionally, Vodafone Qatar will focus on upskilling and reskilling its workforce to ensure they are equipped to utilize the latest innovations on Microsoft Azure cloud and Azure OpenAI. With employees being trained in new technologies and redeployed in strategic growth areas, Vodafone Qatar aims to meet the evolving demands of the digital landscape.

From a customer experience perspective, Vodafone Qatar will leverage Microsoft Cloud Stack to offer hyper-personalized experiences across all its customer touchpoints. This partnership will not only benefit Vodafone Qatar but will also see the telecommunications provider and Microsoft collaborate to develop bespoke cloud and AI offerings for the Qatar enterprise market. This will enable Vodafone Qatar to earn Microsoft partner designations and certifications, showcasing its technical capabilities and expanding its reach to customers.

The Chief Technology Officer at Vodafone Qatar, Ramy Boctor, emphasized the commitment to transforming Vodafone Qatar into a Tech-co through investments in cloud, Artificial Intelligence, and digital transformation. Boctor also highlighted the dedication to providing cutting-edge solutions to customers while fostering a culture of continuous learning and development within the workforce. On the other hand, Lana Khalaf, General Manager of Microsoft Qatar, expressed excitement about the partnership with Vodafone Qatar, emphasizing the digital transformation of Vodafone’s business and IT operations.

As part of the agreement, Microsoft will work closely with Vodafone to accelerate Generative AI skilling and adoption across the workforce, aligning with Vodafone Qatar’s vision to create an innovative, modern, and connected society. By leveraging Microsoft Azure and advanced AI technologies, Vodafone Qatar is poised to deliver cutting-edge digital experiences to its consumer and enterprise customers. This partnership represents a significant step towards digital transformation for Vodafone Qatar, showcasing its commitment to innovation and providing top-notch services to its customers in Qatar and beyond.
