Maintaining public appearance in Abu Dhabi is now of utmost importance as violators will be subject to new resolution that allows for fines to be settled at 75 per cent of the amount, provided that the violation is corrected. The resolution empowers municipal inspectors to detect violations related to the preservation of public appearance, notify offenders, and offer them the opportunity to settle their fines. In cases where the violator fails to comply, the municipality will rectify the violation at the violator’s expense. Additionally, violators have the right to appeal within a week of receiving the violation.

Furthermore, the resolution stipulates that repeated violations will be seen as aggravated offenses, resulting in higher fines for the offenders. The same penalties apply to individuals who do not remedy the violations within the specified timeframe. This comprehensive resolution addresses three main types of regulations, including public appearance, public space preservation, and disturbances in public spaces. Each category outlines specific violations and corresponding actions that may negatively impact the public environment in Abu Dhabi.

The first set of regulations under the resolution focuses on public appearance and includes activities that diminish the visual appeal of buildings. Violations may include neglect of building maintenance that poses a threat to public safety or negatively impacts its appearance, installation of car parking shades without permits, improper handling of flags or banners, lack of appropriate waste containers in establishments, and poor decoration of building facades. In addition, violations related to the inappropriate storage of materials on rooftops, balconies, or pathways between residential properties are also addressed.

The second category of regulations pertains to public space preservation and delves into violations such as improper disposal of construction or farm waste, failure to adhere to road signs, damage to green areas, defacement of public properties, picking fruits or flowers without authorization, and disposal of personal waste in non-designated areas. These regulations aim to ensure the cleanliness and preservation of public spaces for the well-being of Abu Dhabi residents and visitors.

The final set of regulations under the resolution focuses on disturbances in public spaces, specifically actions that may negatively impact cleanliness and public health. Violations in this category encompass obstructing public areas, creating excessive noise, using disruptive lighting, distributing or posting printed materials without authorization, and smoking in unauthorized zones. These regulations aim to maintain order and cleanliness in public spaces by deterring actions that may disrupt the peace and harmony of the community.

In conclusion, the new resolution in Abu Dhabi emphasizes the importance of maintaining public appearance and preserving public spaces for the well-being of residents and visitors. By offering violators the opportunity to settle fines at a reduced rate, the resolution encourages compliance with regulations related to building maintenance, waste disposal, and public disturbances. By adhering to these regulations, individuals contribute to the overall cleanliness and visual appeal of Abu Dhabi, creating a more pleasant and harmonious environment for all.
