The Sports Minister inaugurates the third annual Saudi Games.

The third annual Saudi Games kicked off in Riyadh under the patronage of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz. The opening ceremony was attended by Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal, Minister of Sport and Chairman of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee. The event took place at Boulevard Riyadh City and featured a royal anthem, parade of participating athletes, and raising of the Olympic and Paralympic Committee flags. Athletes took the sports oath, and the Minister of Sport officially declared the opening of the games, which will run from October 3 to 17.

The tournament will showcase athletes competing in 52 individual and team sports, including seven Paralympic sports, ten demonstration sports, and 15 youth sports. The total prize money for the event exceeds SR200 million, highlighting the Kingdom’s commitment to fostering sports and athletic talent. The Saudi Games aim to promote sports and healthy competition in the Kingdom and provide a platform for athletes to showcase their skills and abilities. The event not only encourages participation in sports but also promotes a healthy lifestyle and overall well-being among the population.

Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal, Minister of Sport and Chairman of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, emphasized the importance of sports in building a healthy and strong society. He mentioned that the Saudi Games play a crucial role in developing athletic talent and promoting sports at all levels. The Minister of Sport stated that the Kingdom is dedicated to supporting its athletes and providing them with the resources and opportunities they need to succeed on the international stage.
