The Research, Development and Innovation Authority (RDIA) has launched an advanced training program focused on ‘digital chip design techniques’ in collaboration with the National Academy of Industry. The initiative aims to localize chip design and allow talented Saudis to enter companies under the National Semiconductor Cluster. The program is designed to equip trainees with knowledge in semiconductor design and prepare them to work on chip design projects aligned with the needs of the labor market. The registration for the program is open to individuals with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or related disciplines. The training program will run for eight months, starting from September 29 and ending on May 29. The deadline for registration is in early September. Interested individuals can register for the program by visiting the RDIA website.

The RDIA emphasizes the importance of the training program in developing the skills of Saudi nationals in the field of semiconductor design. By offering specialized training in digital chip design techniques, the program aims to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, enabling trainees to directly participate in chip design projects. The collaboration with the National Academy of Industry, along with key partners such as the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the Ministry of Industry, Saudi Aramco, and Al-Alat Company, highlights the strategic significance of the initiative in supporting the growth of the semiconductor industry in Saudi Arabia. Through this program, the RDIA seeks to contribute to the localization of chip design expertise and promote the participation of Saudi talent in high-tech industries.

The training program is designed to provide trainees with comprehensive knowledge and practical experience in semiconductor design, preparing them for career opportunities in the semiconductor industry. With a focus on digital chip design techniques, the program covers key aspects of chip design, including design principles, tools, and methodologies. Participants will have the opportunity to work on real-world chip design projects under the guidance of industry experts, gaining hands-on experience and practical skills that are highly relevant to the needs of the labor market. By aligning the training experience with industry requirements, the program aims to enhance the employability of trainees and facilitate their smooth transition into the semiconductor industry.

The RDIA has set specific eligibility criteria for individuals who wish to enroll in the training program. Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or related disciplines to be eligible for registration. This academic requirement ensures that participants have the necessary background knowledge and technical skills to succeed in the program. The eight-month duration of the training program provides trainees with ample time to master digital chip design techniques and gain practical experience in semiconductor design. By offering rigorous training and mentorship, the program aims to nurture the talent of Saudi nationals and equip them with the skills needed to excel in the semiconductor industry.

Interested individuals can register for the training program by visiting the RDIA website and completing the registration process. The registration deadline is in early September, and the program is scheduled to commence on September 29, running until May 29. By participating in this advanced training program, trainees have the opportunity to enhance their expertise in semiconductor design and prepare themselves for rewarding career opportunities in the semiconductor industry. The collaborative efforts of the RDIA, the National Academy of Industry, and key industry partners underscore the commitment to developing local talent and promoting innovation in the semiconductor sector. Through initiatives like the digital chip design techniques training program, Saudi Arabia aims to strengthen its position as a hub for cutting-edge technology and advanced manufacturing capabilities in the region.
