The Peninsula Qatar: Cybersecurity Summer Bootcamp Wraps Up

The National Cyber Security Agency recently organized the closing ceremony for the Cybersecurity Summer Bootcamp 2024, with the presence of H E Engineer Abdulrahman bin Ali Al Farahid Al Malki, experts in cyber security, partners, and camp participants. During the ceremony, awards were given to partners, expert speakers, winners of competitions, and teams with the best projects. The Director of the National Cyber Security Excellence Department, Dalal Al Aqeedi, emphasized the agency’s efforts in supporting and enhancing the capabilities of young participants, providing them with valuable experience to safely navigate the cyber world.

Al Aqeedi highlighted the success of the camp’s first edition, showcasing projects created by students, educational and entertainment activities, and overall improvement of participants’ cybersecurity skills. The camp, which attracted around 200 students, aimed to raise awareness of cybersecurity concepts, digital safety, and responsible Internet use. The NCSA offered theoretical training content and practical exercises in both Arabic and English. The camp also involved lectures, practical exercises, games, competitions, consulting sessions, penetration testing, and field visits to enhance participants’ understanding of cybersecurity.

The Cybersecurity Summer Bootcamp 2024 focused on equipping young individuals with the necessary skills to navigate cyberspace confidently and effectively. Participants were exposed to various activities aimed at enhancing their understanding of cybersecurity and digital safety, alongside promoting cyber and social responsibility. The camp provided a platform for students to engage in theoretical and practical cybersecurity training, encouraging them to develop critical thinking skills and hands-on experience.

The camp was a significant success, generating projects and activities that highlighted the participants’ knowledge and creativity in the field of cybersecurity. By nurturing young talent and providing them with valuable learning experiences, the NCSA aims to contribute to a safer online environment and empower the next generation of cybersecurity professionals. Through a combination of theoretical knowledge and practical exercises, participants were able to enhance their cybersecurity awareness and develop essential skills for addressing cyber threats effectively.

The closing ceremony celebrated the achievements and efforts of all participants, recognizing their dedication and commitment to enhancing cybersecurity practices. With the support of partners and expert speakers, the camp successfully created a learning environment that encouraged innovation, collaboration, and skill development. By fostering a culture of cybersecurity education and awareness, the NCSA hopes to inspire young individuals to pursue careers in cybersecurity and contribute to the protection of digital assets and information.
