The Minister of Labour attends a meeting with the ALO Board of Directors

Minister of Labour H E Dr. Ali bin Smaikh Al Marri recently attended the 101st session of the Governing Body of the Arab Labour Organization in Cairo. The meeting included representatives from governments, employers, and workers from Arab countries, as well as various Arab and regional organizations. During the session, important matters were discussed, and resolutions and recommendations were made regarding the implementation of previous sessions’ resolutions, the situation of workers and Palestinians in occupied territories, the Economic and Social Council’s work outcomes, and the results of the Higher Coordination Committee for Joint Arab Action’s 56th session. As the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arab Labour Organization from October 2023 to September 2024, Dr. Al Marri played a significant role in leading the discussions and decision-making processes.

One of the key topics discussed during the meeting was the implementation of resolutions from previous sessions, including those from the 100th session of the Governing Body and the 50th ordinary session of the Arab Labour Conference. Another important aspect of the meeting was the results of the Higher Coordination Committee for Joint Arab Action’s 56th session. The Committee plays a vital role in promoting cooperation and coordination among Arab countries to address shared goals and challenges in various spheres, including labor, economic, social, and political affairs. The outcomes of the 56th session were discussed, and strategies were developed to strengthen joint Arab action and enhance regional integration to achieve sustainable development and prosperity for the Arab nations.

As the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arab Labour Organization, Dr. Al Marri’s leadership and guidance were instrumental in steering the discussions and decision-making processes during the 101st session. His commitment to promoting the rights and well-being of workers in Arab countries, as well as his dedication to fostering cooperation and coordination among member states, were evident throughout the meeting.
