The Minister of Interior, His Excellency, Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, has recently issued a decree that amends certain provisions of Decree No. (196) of 2014 regarding fees for services provided by the General Directorate of Nationality, Passports, and Residence Affairs (NPRA). The new decree, No. (86) of 2024, was published in the official gazette and replaces the text of Articles No. (12), (20), and (45) in the original decree with updated details specified in Table (1) attached to the new decree. Additionally, a new Article No. (73) has been added to the table, with its text outlined in Table (B) attached to this decree.

The main purpose of this amendment is to clarify and update the fees associated with various services provided by the General Directorate of Nationality, Passports, and Residence. The specific details of the revised fees can be found in the tables attached to the decree. The changes made by the Minister of Interior aim to streamline the fee structure and ensure that the fees are in line with the current requirements and standards. It is important for individuals and businesses to be aware of these changes so that they can plan and budget accordingly when utilizing the services of the NPRA.

The decree emphasizes the importance of maintaining an efficient and effective system for providing services related to nationality, passports, and residence affairs. By updating the fee structure, the General Directorate can continue to deliver high-quality services to the public while covering the costs associated with these services. The revision of the fees will also help to prevent any confusion or discrepancies in the payment process, ensuring a smooth and transparent transaction for all parties involved.

It is crucial for individuals and organizations who interact with the General Directorate of Nationality, Passports, and Residence Affairs to stay informed about the changes in fees and regulations. By being aware of the updated fee structure, they can avoid any misunderstandings or unexpected costs when availing of the services provided by the NPRA. Compliance with the revised fee schedule will also contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the Directorate’s operations, benefiting both service providers and recipients.

Overall, the issuance of Decree No. (86) of 2024 reflects the government’s commitment to enhancing administrative procedures and promoting transparency in fee arrangements. The Minister of Interior’s decision to amend the provisions related to fees for NPRA services demonstrates a proactive approach to improving public service delivery. By ensuring that the fee structure is up-to-date and reflective of the current needs and demands, the General Directorate can better serve the community and meet the expectations of its stakeholders.

In conclusion, the recent decree issued by the Minister of Interior represents a significant step towards modernizing the fee structure for services provided by the General Directorate of Nationality, Passports, and Residence Affairs. The amendment aims to streamline the fee system, clarify the costs associated with various services, and enhance overall efficiency in service delivery. Individuals and businesses should familiarize themselves with the revised fee schedule to ensure compliance and avoid any potential misunderstandings. By staying informed and up-to-date on the changes, stakeholders can contribute to the smooth operation of the NPRA and benefit from improved service quality and transparency in fee arrangements.
