The Ri’aya Young Adult Stewardship Program, recently launched by Qatar Foundation’s Al-Mujadilah Center and Mosque for Women, aims to nurture the next generation of Muslim women leaders who will play a significant role in stewarding their families, communities, and society towards a peaceful and prosperous future. This education exchange program is designed for young Muslim women aged 17-20 years from Qatar and around the world, providing them with the opportunity to engage with experts and explore the history and values of Islam that can help address contemporary global challenges.

Through intellectual exchange, mentorship, and capacity development, the program equips young Muslim women with the critical thinking skills, analytical abilities, and confidence needed to address challenges that hinder their current and future participation in local and global society. Scheduled to run from December 28, 2024, to January 4, 2025, the program offers financial assistance and scholarship opportunities to successful applicants. Interested candidates are encouraged to apply before the deadline of October 12, 2024, as seats and scholarship opportunities are limited.

Dr. Sohaira Siddiqui, Executive Director of Al-Mujadilah, emphasized the importance of considering the various roles that women play in their lives and the lives of those around them. Drawing from her experience as a professor at Education City for over a decade and extensive research, Dr. Siddiqui highlighted the program’s unique approach in addressing the challenges faced by young women at this formative age. By delving into Islamic history, contemporary Muslim societies, and global challenges, participants gain the knowledge and skills needed to understand and engage with the world in an informed manner.

The Ri’aya Young Adult Stewardship Program offers a transformative experience for young Muslim women, enabling them to broaden their perspectives, deepen their understanding of Islam, and develop the necessary tools to navigate diverse societal contexts effectively. With a focus on empowering women to become influential leaders and change-makers, the program aims to inspire a new generation of Muslim women who are equipped to contribute positively to their communities and the broader society. By exposing participants to experts, mentorship opportunities, and capacity-building initiatives, the program fosters a supportive and enriching environment for personal growth and professional development.

In a world marked by rapid changes and complex challenges, the Ri’aya Young Adult Stewardship Program stands out as a valuable opportunity for young Muslim women to enhance their leadership skills, cultural awareness, and global perspective. By encouraging participants to think critically, engage with diverse viewpoints, and address pressing issues, the program fosters a sense of responsibility and agency among young women, empowering them to make a meaningful impact in their communities and beyond. As the program unfolds, it is expected to cultivate a network of empowered and inspired young Muslim women who are poised to lead and shape a more inclusive, harmonious, and prosperous future for all.
