Tamkeen, a government agency in Bahrain, has recently announced its support for the career development of over 150 Bahraini employees at Midal Cables Company. Through the Wage Increment Program, Tamkeen will cover up to 20% of the salary increases for employees for a period of two years. Midal Cables is a leading Bahraini company in the aluminum manufacturing industry, with over 47 years of experience in producing rods, wires, and electrical cables for transmitting electricity worldwide. The company exports its products to more than 60 countries, including the United States and Europe.

This collaboration between Tamkeen and Midal Cables is expected to have a significant impact on the manufacturing sector in Bahrain. Maha Abdulhameed Mofeez, the Chief Executive of Tamkeen, expressed her pleasure at the partnership and highlighted the importance of supporting local talents to strive for excellence. She believes that this support will help advance the growing manufacturing sector in the Kingdom, which contributed 13% to the GDP in 2023, making it the second largest contributor to the national economy after the financial services and insurance sector.

Khaled Abdul Latif, the Group Chief Executive of Midal Cables, also expressed his excitement about the collaboration with Tamkeen. He stated that the company looks forward to promoting its employees in the upcoming period by utilizing Tamkeen’s career development support programs. This initiative is expected to increase employee loyalty and productivity, which will ultimately have a positive impact on the company’s revenues and output in the long term.

The support provided by Tamkeen through the Wage Increment Program is part of the agency’s efforts to boost the growth of various sectors in Bahrain, including manufacturing. By incentivizing companies to invest in the development of their workforce, Tamkeen aims to enhance the competitiveness of Bahraini businesses in the global market. This support not only benefits the employees by improving their skills and advancing their careers but also strengthens the overall economy of Bahrain.

As part of its commitment to supporting Bahraini nationals in their career development, Tamkeen offers a range of programs and initiatives aimed at upskilling and empowering the local workforce. These programs include training, mentorship, and financial support for individuals seeking to enhance their skills and expertise in various industries. By partnering with leading companies like Midal Cables, Tamkeen is able to create opportunities for Bahraini employees to grow and excel in their careers.

Overall, the collaboration between Tamkeen and Midal Cables represents a positive step towards promoting the growth of the manufacturing sector in Bahrain. By supporting the career development of Bahraini employees, both organizations are contributing to the advancement of local talents and the overall economic development of the Kingdom. With continued efforts and investments in skills development and training, Bahrain is well-positioned to further strengthen its manufacturing industry and compete on a global scale.
