Saudi Arabia has been making significant strides in attracting world-class foreign educational companies and premier schools in order to enhance the private-public education sector and increase the competitiveness of the educational industry. Over the past 14 months, the country has successfully attracted 13 foreign educational companies, signaling a growing trend in the sector. This success has been further boosted by the formulation of an ambitious program aimed at facilitating the attraction of the best foreign companies and schools from abroad. The Ministry of Education, Ministry of Investment, and the Royal Commission for Riyadh City are working together on this program to harness global expertise and improve the quality of education in Saudi Arabia.

Abdulaziz Al-Fahd, chairman of the National Committee for Training and Private Education at the Federation of Saudi Chambers, highlighted the importance of collaboration between government agencies to benefit from international experiences in education. By bringing in educational and administrative staff from foreign companies and schools, Saudi Arabia aims to raise the level of competition in private sector schools and enhance local school programs. The Kingdom has a dedicated program to attract various types of investments, with a special focus on education, and the government is actively working to remove any obstacles that may hinder the entry of foreign educational entities into the market.

The education sector in Saudi Arabia is considered one of the most attractive sectors for investment opportunities not only in the Kingdom but also in the Middle East and North Africa region as a whole. The recent establishment of eight international schools in Riyadh, including Beach Hall School, RGS International School, and King’s College, underscores the growing interest of foreign educational companies in entering the Saudi market. These schools have been collaborating with local schools to exchange ideas and develop study programs that can enhance the level of competitiveness in the education sector.

Investment opportunities in the education sector in Saudi Arabia are diverse and include early childhood schools, public education, higher education, educational technologies, specialized training, and equipment and contracting services for the education sector. The government’s focus on attracting foreign companies and schools is expected to drive innovation and improvement in the quality of education in the country. By leveraging global expertise and best practices, Saudi Arabia aims to strengthen its position as a leading destination for education investment in the region and attract top talent to contribute to the development of the sector.

The successful attraction of foreign educational companies and premier schools in Saudi Arabia is a testament to the country’s commitment to enhancing the quality of education and fostering competitiveness in the sector. The collaborative efforts between government agencies and local schools to learn from international experiences and implement best practices are crucial for driving innovation and improvement in the education sector. With a dedicated program in place to facilitate the entry of foreign companies and schools, Saudi Arabia is well positioned to capitalize on the diverse investment opportunities available in the education sector and continue its journey towards becoming a global education hub.
