The Foreign Minister of Oman, Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi, received a phone call from David Lammy, the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs of the United Kingdom. The two ministers discussed the historical and strategic relations between their countries, as well as the importance of continuing to develop economic interests in areas such as renewable energy, security, and defense cooperation. They also emphasized the need for regional and international efforts to stop military escalation and prevent humanitarian crises, particularly in Lebanon and the Palestinian territories.

One of the main topics of discussion between the two ministers was the increasing civilian casualties in Lebanon and the Gaza Strip, as well as the overall stability of the region. They highlighted the importance of collective action within the international community to establish a comprehensive and just political solution to the Palestinian cause, which they believe is essential for security and stability in the region. In addition, they called for the opening of urgent and safe humanitarian corridors to provide relief supplies to the Gaza Strip, as well as increased support for the Palestinian National Authority and the UNRWA.

Furthermore, the ministers stressed the importance of developing economic interests in the energy sector, including renewable energy, as a way to strengthen ties between Oman and the UK. They also discussed the need for enhanced security and defense cooperation to address the evolving challenges in the region. By continuing to prioritize these areas of cooperation, the two countries hope to further strengthen their relationship and promote stability in the region.

In light of the current regional developments, the ministers expressed their concern over the escalating military conflicts and the deteriorating humanitarian situation in the region. They emphasized the urgency of intensifying efforts to address these challenges and prevent further instability. The call for collective action within the international community reflects their commitment to finding sustainable solutions to the ongoing crises in Lebanon and the Palestinian territories.

Overall, the phone call between the Foreign Minister of Oman and the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs of the UK underscored the shared commitment of both countries to strengthening their bilateral relations and addressing the pressing challenges facing the region. By emphasizing the importance of economic development, security cooperation, and humanitarian assistance, they hope to promote stability and security in the Middle East. Through continued dialogue and collaboration, Oman and the UK aim to work together to achieve a comprehensive and just political solution to the Palestinian cause, while also addressing the immediate humanitarian needs of those affected by the ongoing conflicts in the region.
