Khalid Al-Mudaifer, the Vice Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources for Mining Affairs, recently held a meeting with representatives from major global commodity marketing and trading firms in Geneva. The purpose of this meeting was to attract international commodity trading and marketing houses to invest in and collaborate with Saudi Arabia’s mining sector. The goal is to reinforce the Kingdom’s position as a global hub for mining and mining services. The gathering was part of Al-Mudaifer’s participation in a roundtable discussion organized by the Saudi Export-Import Bank in collaboration with the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources. Attendees included Saudi Export-Import Bank Chief Executive Eng. Saad Alkhalb, National Industrial Development and Logistics Program (NIDLP) Chief Executive Eng. Suliman Almazroua, Assistant Deputy Minister of Investment for Industrial Sectors Ammar Altaf, and senior leaders from the ministry’s mining sector. Discussions focused on strengthening trade partnerships, supporting raw material supply chains, and expanding global markets for Saudi products.

One of the key aspects of the meeting was to attract international commodity trading and marketing firms to invest in and collaborate with Saudi Arabia’s mining sector. By doing so, the Kingdom aims to solidify its position as a global hub for mining and mining services. This initiative aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which seeks to diversify the country’s economy and reduce its dependence on oil revenue. By attracting foreign investment in the mining sector, Saudi Arabia can create new opportunities for economic growth and job creation.
