The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, H H Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah Al Saud, highlighted the challenges facing the region and the need for consolidated efforts and joint action to address them. Speaking at the 3rd Asia Cooperation Dialogue Summit (ACD), he emphasized the significance of the platform in enhancing dialogue and cooperation between Asian countries in various fields, including economic, political, cultural, and more. Prince Faisal noted that development challenges are intertwined with political and security situations in the region, such as events in Palestine and Lebanon, which hinder economic development and commercial progress.

The Minister stressed that aggression and violations in the region impede international trade and increase political tensions that threaten investments and economic cooperation. He emphasized that sustainable economic development relies on political and security stability, underscoring the importance of resolving regional conflicts through peaceful and diplomatic means to ensure prosperity. Prince Faisal thanked ACD countries for supporting the two-state solution and recognizing the State of Palestine, urging the rest of the world to follow suit and contributing to establishing an international coalition for this objective.

Prince Faisal highlighted the importance of collective action and cooperation among ACD countries to achieve common goals. He emphasized Asia’s potential and energy, noting that unified efforts can turn challenges into growth opportunities by strengthening economic partnerships, developing cooperation in regional security, technology, and energy, and working towards sustainable development goals. The Minister also emphasized the need for enhanced cooperation, especially among developing countries, to address economic and development challenges and narrow the gap between developed and influential nations.

Moreover, he emphasized the increasing role of sports in diplomatic work, as it transcends geographical and cultural borders and acts as a bridge to unite peoples. Prince Faisal emphasized the Kingdom’s belief in sports diplomacy as an effective means of facilitating dialogue and supporting peace and stability. Enhancing trade and investment, exchanging expertise, and promoting cooperation among ACD countries are seen as crucial steps to advance sustainable development. By working together and leveraging their potentials, the ACD countries can overcome challenges and turn them into opportunities for growth and development.
