The Qatar Research, Development, and Innovation (QRDI) Council recently launched the Intellectual Property Champions Community, aiming to bring together a diverse group of stakeholders interested in intellectual property (IP) matters. The community is open to professionals from various fields, including IP specialists, technology transfer experts, academics, lawyers, and government officials. Members can expect to receive regular updates on significant IP developments, invitations to specialized events, and information on awards and training opportunities related to IP.

One of the key benefits of joining the IP Champions Community is the opportunity to engage with valuable resources, participate in discussions, and advance IP and technology transfer initiatives. By creating a platform for collaboration and recognition, the community aims to drive innovation in Qatar forward. Through this initiative, members can connect with like-minded individuals, share insights, and work together towards enhancing the country’s innovation landscape.

During the launch event, attendees were introduced to the goals of the community through a comprehensive program. Nejoud Al Jehani, QRDI’s Senior Director of Policy Planning and Evaluation, gave welcome remarks and provided an overview of the community’s objectives. The event also included a workshop led by ASTP, a well-known European association of knowledge transfer professionals, where participants engaged in hands-on activities focused on building and sustaining an IP community.

The launch event concluded with inspiring closing remarks and discussions on the initiative’s role and next steps. Attendees had the opportunity to network, share ideas, and gain insights into the importance of collaboration in advancing innovation and technology transfer in Qatar. The community offers a platform for members to stay informed about the latest developments in the field, learn from experts, and contribute to the growth of Qatar’s innovation ecosystem.

Overall, the Intellectual Property Champions Community provides a valuable opportunity for individuals interested in IP matters to connect, collaborate, and contribute to the country’s innovation agenda. Through its various benefits, such as access to resources, specialized events, and training opportunities, members can enhance their knowledge and skills in the field of intellectual property. By fostering a culture of collaboration and recognition, the community aims to drive innovation and technology transfer initiatives in Qatar to new heights.
