QF’s Earthna to host the ninth edition of Qatar Sustainability Week from September 28 to October 5

Qatar Sustainability Week (QSW) 2024 is set to take place from September 28 to October 5, offering a wide array of sustainability-focused activities and events for the community to participate in. Led by Earthna Center for a Sustainable Future and in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, QSW aims to promote environmental awareness and action at the grassroots level. Minister of Environment and Climate Change, H E Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie, emphasized the importance of QSW in driving Qatar’s sustainability agenda forward.

Dr. Gonzalo Castro de la Mata, Executive Director of Earthna, highlighted the inclusive nature of QSW 2024, aiming to make a tangible difference in Qatar’s environment while fostering a collective culture of responsible behavior. With over 470 events and 200,000 participants in the previous year, QSW 2024 is expected to build on this success and drive positive change for generations to come. The week will also feature the 4th edition of Qatar National Dialogue on Climate Change, providing a platform for discussions on climate-related issues.

QSW 2024 has garnered support from various public and private sector organizations, including the Ministry of Sports and Youth, Kahrama’s Tarsheed, Ashghal, Qatar Museums, and more. These strategic partners will contribute to the success of the event and help amplify its impact on the community. The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change looks forward to collaborating with Earthna and other partners to ensure the success of QSW 2024 and further advance Qatar’s sustainability goals.

As Qatar continues its efforts towards sustainable progress, events like QSW play a crucial role in engaging the community and promoting sustainable practices. By encouraging participation from government entities, NGOs, and private sector organizations, QSW aims to create a lasting impact on Qatar’s environment and society.
