Qatar placed in Group A with tough opponents for AFC U-20 Asian Cup 2025

Qatar has been placed in Group A for the AFC U-20 Asian Cup 2025, along with hosts China, Australia, and Kyrgyzstan. The tournament will take place from February 12 to March 1, 2025, with the winner not only claiming continental glory but also securing one of the four tickets to the FIFA U-20 World Cup 2025 in Chile.

In Group B, five-time winners Iraq will lead the pack alongside Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and North Korea. North Korea and Saudi Arabia have both won the tournament three times, while Jordan finished fourth in 2006. With only two quarter-final spots up for grabs, the competition in this group is expected to be fierce.

Defending champions Uzbekistan will face off against four-time winners Iran, as well as Indonesia and Yemen in Group C. Indonesia, who won the title in 1961, will be looking to make their mark in the tournament, while Yemen will be making their seventh appearance at the Finals.

Group D will see 2016 champions Japan up against South Korea, Syria, and Thailand. Japan has won the tournament once, while South Korea boasts an impressive 12 titles. Syria was crowned champions in 1994, and Thailand claimed the title in 1962 and 1969, making this group a highly competitive one.

The AFC U-20 Asian Cup is a prestigious tournament that showcases some of the best young talent in Asian football. With these strong teams competing, fans can expect exciting matches and intense competition as they battle it out for a chance to represent their country on the world stage in the FIFA U-20 World Cup 2025.
