Qatar introduces National Sports Day 2025 Award to enhance sports culture

The National Sports Day Committee in Doha has recently announced the launch of the National Sports Day 2025 Award. This award aims to recognize agencies that promote a culture of sports among their employees. The announcement was made by Abdulrahman bin Musallam Al Dosari, who is the advisor to the Minister of Sports and Youth and also the Chairperson of the National Sports Day Committee. The award is open to both state and private agencies in Qatar and is part of the Ministry of Sports and Youth’s efforts to boost public health and sportsmanship in the Qatari society.

The National Sports Day Committee has emphasized the importance of encouraging agencies to provide a healthy and energetic work environment for their staff. The goal is to promote sports as a sustainable lifestyle and to inspire more people to participate in physical activities. Al Dosari highlighted the need for agencies to document their sports-related activities by uploading photos and videos on social media using specific hashtags and mentioning the National Sports Day account. Additionally, agencies are required to fill out an event form on the Ministry of Sports and Youth website, providing details about the events and the number of participants involved. It is also essential for participants to adhere to all security and safety measures, including having medical teams on standby.

The criteria for scoring points in the National Sports Day 2025 Award include the number of events organized by the agencies, the duration of the events, the number of participants, and the involvement of agency staff in the Sports for All calendar. Abdullah Al Dosari, who serves as the Director of Events and Activities at Qatar Sports For All (QSFA), highlighted the organization’s efforts in offering 750 free sports events throughout the year to individuals.
