The Qatar Drift Championship is gearing up for its second round after a successful and competitive first round two weeks ago. Held under the patronage of Qatar Racing Club (QRC) Chairman H E Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Thani, the championship promises to showcase thrilling drift action. The track was opened yesterday for a four-hour open day, allowing participants to test and prepare their cars for the upcoming round.

The competition schedule for the second round includes technical inspection, practice sessions, and qualifying trials. The qualifying trials will see each driver make two attempts on the designated track, with judges evaluating their performance. The best attempt of each driver will be used to determine their placement in the tandem knockout bracket, setting the stage for intense competition.

The main event will kick off on Friday with a briefing for the drivers, followed by a practice session and the start of the knockout stage. The knockout rounds will see drivers battling it out through eliminations until the final races, which will determine the top three in both the overall and local categories. Excitement is at its peak as drivers vie for top honors and aim to secure their positions in the championship standings.

In the overall category, Kuwaiti driver Ali Mukhseed currently leads the championship standings with 28 points, closely followed by last season’s champion, Omani driver Ahmed Al Amri, in second place with 20 points. Kuwaiti driver Salem Al Sarraf holds the third spot in the overall standings after his impressive performance in the previous round. Meanwhile, in the local category, Yazan Al Jabsha leads the pack with 27 points, showcasing his skill and determination on the track.

As the competition heats up, fans can expect high-octane action and fierce battles on the track as drivers push themselves to the limit in pursuit of victory. The Qatar Drift Championship continues to be a thrilling spectacle for motorsport enthusiasts, showcasing the skill and talent of the participating drivers. Stay tuned for more updates and highlights from the second round of the championship as the drivers gear up for another adrenaline-fueled showdown on the track.
