Qatar Chamber recently participated in several key meetings in Vienna, including the 33rd General Assembly meeting and the 34th Board of Directors meeting of the Arab-Austrian Chamber of Commerce (AACC), as well as the 14th Arab-Austrian Economic Forum. The delegation was led by HE Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani, the Chairman of Qatar Chamber. The forum celebrated the 35th anniversary of the Austro-Arab Chamber of Commerce’s establishment.

Organized by the AACC and the Arab Union of Chamber, the forum focused on various aspects of energy, including fossil energy, renewable energy, and energy efficiency. The event featured an exhibition showcasing a wide range of Austrian, Arab, and international companies and organizations. This forum is considered the AACC’s largest international conference, exhibition, and networking event, offering a platform for knowledge exchange and deepening of Austro-Arab relations in various sectors.

The AACC’s General Assembly meeting brought together Austrian and Arab board members to discuss and plan future directions for Austro-Arab cooperation, as well as discussions with the Arab Ambassadors Council. The meetings covered cooperation in economic and commercial fields, with a focus on sectors such as energy, renewable energy, sustainable innovation, gas-to-hydrogen transformation, and modern nuclear power.

Economic relations between Qatar and Austria have seen significant development in recent years, with trade exchange amounting to QR 503 million in 2023. Austrian exports to Qatar mainly included timber and tourist vehicles, while Qatar’s exports to Austria consisted of chemical compounds, ethylene polymers, and vinyl chloride polymers. The meetings highlighted the importance of continued collaboration between the two countries in various sectors.

Overall, Qatar Chamber’s participation in these meetings in Vienna signifies the strong relationship between Qatar and Austria, as well as the commitment to furthering economic cooperation and trade relations. The discussions and exchange of ideas at the forum and meetings pave the way for future collaborations in energy, innovation, and other key sectors, contributing to the growth and development of both countries’ economies. The AACC’s efforts in organizing such events demonstrate its dedication to strengthening Austro-Arab ties and fostering a conducive environment for business and economic partnerships.
