The new academic year 2024-2025 in Qatar will kick off tomorrow, with 136,802 students in 303 public schools and kindergartens ready to start their learning journey. The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MOEHE) has ensured that all public schools have undergone full maintenance, including air conditioning, security, safety, and electrical systems. School canteens will be following nutrition standards for school meals, and there will be 2,353 school buses along with 160 vehicles for students with special needs to ensure a safe and healthy learning environment.

The Private Education Affairs Sector is also gearing up to welcome 241,332 students, including 48,319 Qatari students. Thirteen new private schools and kindergartens have been licensed to open this year, with four school premises functioning as branches of existing educational institutions. The number of private schools participating in the educational voucher system has reached 134, with eight new schools joining this year. The number of Qatari students benefiting from the educational voucher system has reached 31,572.

In preparation for the new academic year, school administrative and educational staff have returned from their summer break to ensure a smooth start. With an emphasis on providing quality education and fostering a supportive learning environment, Qatar is set to embark on another year full of learning and achievements. The MOEHE’s efforts to maintain school infrastructure and facilitate learning will contribute to the success of students in the upcoming academic year.

As Qatar continues to invest in its education system, the focus remains on providing students with the necessary resources and support to excel academically. The inclusion of school buses and vehicles for students with special needs highlights the commitment to ensuring that all students have access to quality education. The licensing of new private schools and the expansion of the educational voucher system further demonstrate Qatar’s dedication to enhancing the educational opportunities available to students in the country.

With the opening of new schools and the implementation of initiatives to support student learning, Qatar is taking proactive steps to improve its education system. By prioritizing the well-being and academic success of students, Qatar is setting the stage for another productive academic year. As students and staff gear up for the start of the new academic year, there is a sense of optimism and excitement for the possibilities that lie ahead. Qatar’s commitment to providing a supportive and enriching learning environment sets a strong foundation for students to thrive and achieve their full potential.
