Eid Al-Adha celebrations have begun in various wilayats in Oman, with a festive atmosphere filled with cultural, social, and sports events. In North A’Sharqiyah Governorate, villages and wilayats set up markets and tents, drawing crowds of shoppers looking for Eid supplies. Small and medium enterprises, as well as local artisans, presented a variety of products including clothing, perfumes, household goods, Omani cuisine, and local crafts.

The municipality department in the Wilayat of Nakhal in South Al Batinah Governorate is collaborating with the public to organize two pre-Eid souqs. The Souq Saabi’ and the main Eid gathering souq, known as Eid Al-Adha Habta, are expected to attract large crowds on Friday, June 14, 2024, near Nakhal Fort. In A’Dhakhikiya Governorate, the Municipality is also gearing up for the Eid celebrations by ensuring cleanliness in public areas and arranging traditional livestock sale souqs.

Additionally, celebrations in various parts of Oman are reinforcing the traditional culture of entrepreneurship, with families showcasing their products and crafts. The Eid markets serve as a platform for self-employed individuals to sell their goods and for shoppers to enjoy the festive spirit. The events are not only an opportunity to purchase Eid supplies but also a chance to support local businesses and artisans.

As the Sultanate of Oman embraces Eid Al-Adha, the emphasis on community participation and support for small businesses is evident. The involvement of the public in organizing and participating in the pre-Eid souqs highlights the sense of unity and togetherness that characterizes the celebrations. The upcoming traditional livestock sale souqs and other cultural festivities further contribute to the festive mood and showcase the rich cultural heritage of Oman.

Overall, the Eid Al-Adha celebrations in Oman are symbolized by a blend of traditional customs, commercial activities, and community engagement. The excitement surrounding the markets, tents, and cultural events reflects the spirit of unity and celebration during this special time of year. As Omani families prepare for the festive occasion, the support for small businesses, artisans, and local cuisine is evident, reinforcing the importance of community involvement and cultural preservation during Eid Al-Adha.
