Pakistanis in the UAE, whether they are expats, job-seekers, or tourists, are reminded to follow all rules and regulations in the Emirates to avoid legal trouble. The Pakistan Consulate in Dubai issued a video advisory to guide Pakistanis in the UAE on local laws, rights, and responsibilities. Violating local laws can lead to imprisonment, financial penalties, and deportation, so it is crucial to adhere to the regulations.

The video advisory highlighted the importance of verifying visas issued to Pakistani nationals by the relevant authorities in different emirates. Job-seekers were advised to verify details of prospective employers through government channels and seek help from the Pakistan Embassy if needed. Information on labour rules and other laws can be obtained from the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation website, and individuals can reach out to Amer and Tasheel Centres for immigration and labour issues, respectively.

In case of a crime or dispute, individuals should report the matter to the police and seek assistance from relevant authorities. It is important to have essential documents such as medical records, passport copies, and employment contracts readily available. And to protect personal information and assets, it is recommended to be cautious of online frauds, obtain insurance, and use official channels for remittance.

Overseas Pakistanis in the UAE represent their country, and following the rules of the country they reside in reflects positively on the entire community. With around 1.7 million Pakistanis in the UAE and millions of tourists visiting, it is crucial for individuals to adhere to guidelines to maintain peace and security in society. The video advisory also listed several do’s and don’ts related to social media, employment, traffic laws, drug regulations, and other prohibited activities in the UAE.

Sami Ullah Khan from the Pakistan Embassy in Abu Dhabi urged people to share the video with friends and relatives, emphasizing the importance of awareness and compliance with local laws to avoid any legal complications. By staying informed, following regulations, and seeking help when needed, Pakistanis in the UAE can ensure a safe and lawful experience in the country. It is essential to respect local customs, laws, and traditions to maintain a harmonious relationship with the host country and contribute positively to the community.
