Oman expresses strong solidarity with Lebanon

The Sultanate of Oman expressed its full solidarity with Lebanon during an emergency meeting of the Arab League Council held to discuss Arab action in support of Lebanon. The meeting was held in response to the Israeli aggression in the region, with Oman calling for self-restraint and respect for international legitimacy to avoid the risks of war. Abdullah Nasser Al Rahbi, Oman’s Ambassador to Egypt and Permanent Representative to the Arab League, highlighted the humanitarian crisis in Lebanon and the need for a rapid response to ensure the well-being of civilians.

Al Rahbi emphasized that the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories is a major obstacle to peace and stability in the region, hindering efforts to protect the rights of people to security. He stressed the importance of implementing the international community’s will to grant the Palestinian people their right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital. According to Al Rahbi, this is a crucial step towards restoring security, stability, and peace in the region.

The emergency meeting, called at the request of Iraq and supported by several Arab countries, aimed to address the serious repercussions of the Israeli aggression in Lebanon. The meeting urged the international community to support the Lebanese people and collaborate with international organizations to provide urgent assistance to those affected by the conflict in Lebanon. Oman’s stance at the meeting reflected its commitment to peace and stability in the region, calling for diplomatic solutions and actions to alleviate the suffering of the Lebanese people.

Oman’s participation in the Arab League Council emergency meeting demonstrated its solidarity with Lebanon and its commitment to finding peaceful solutions to regional conflicts.
