The National Identity Project in Oman is set to attract more investments to the country and enhance economic growth. The project, spearheaded by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, aims to achieve four main strategic objectives, including expanding foreign direct investments, facilitating access to Omani goods, developing services for Omani markets, and building economic capabilities and talents. Representatives of the National Programme for Investment and Export Development ‘Nazdaher’ recently held community consultations in Nizwa to discuss the project’s progress.

During the consultations, Salma Ali Al Hashmi, Head of the Technical Team for the National Identity Project, emphasized the importance of engaging various segments of society in discussions about the project. The goal is to foster communication and collaboration with stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of the national project. Ismail Hamad Al Mahrouqi, Communication Manager at Nazdaher Programme, presented four visual options for the National Identity Project, focusing on dialogue, partnership, relations, and unity.

The National Programme for Investment & Export Development in Oman was established to drive inward investment and domestic growth. By promoting a unified ‘National Identity’ project, the country aims to attract more investments, support local businesses, and strengthen economic capabilities. The project’s strategic objectives align with Oman’s vision to enhance its economic standing on a global scale and create opportunities for growth and development.

The joint community consultations in Nizwa served as a platform for discussions on the National Identity Project’s progress and implementation strategies. By engaging with stakeholders and the public, the project aims to gather feedback, address concerns, and build consensus on the best way forward. The involvement of various segments of society ensures that the project reflects the aspirations and needs of the Omani people.

Through the National Identity Project, Oman seeks to position itself as a favorable investment destination by enhancing its economic capabilities and fostering a conducive business environment. By focusing on expanding foreign direct investments, promoting local goods and services, and building economic talents, the country aims to attract more investments and drive growth across various sectors. The project’s emphasis on unity, dialogue, partnership, and relations underscores its commitment to collaboration and inclusivity in achieving its strategic objectives.

Overall, the National Identity Project in Oman represents a significant step towards enhancing the country’s economic competitiveness and attracting investments. Through strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and community consultations, the project aims to create a unified national identity that reflects Oman’s unique strengths and values. By focusing on economic development, talent enhancement, and market access, the project sets the stage for sustainable growth and prosperity in the Sultanate.
