Muscat Municipality conducts raids on restaurants, disposing of expired food

Muscat Municipality recently conducted a health inspection campaign across restaurants and cafes in the Muscat Governorate. The campaign, which lasted for five days and targeted 247 establishments, resulted in the issuance of 45 violations, closure of 4 shops, and the destruction of 70 kgs of unfit food. Additionally, 101 other damages were reported during the inspection.

The General Directorate of Health Affairs in Muscat Municipality, in cooperation with the municipalities of Seeb, Bousher, and Muttrah, is working to ensure that all food establishments in the region adhere to health regulations. This includes proper food storage practices and compliance with approved health measures to protect public health. The municipality is intensifying its monitoring and inspection campaigns to maintain high standards of food safety in the area.

This recent crackdown on unfit food and non-compliance with health regulations highlights the importance of maintaining high standards in food establishments.
