Monitor dispatch times for trucks at King Fahad Causeway

The initiatives implemented by Customs Affairs have led to record dispatch times for trucks at the King Fahad Causeway, with an average crossing time of 46 minutes during peak times in the second quarter of the year. Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalifa, President of Customs and Deputy Chairman of the King Fahad Causeway General Organisation, visited the causeway to oversee operations and was impressed by the efficiency and dedication of the employees in processing travelling procedures and traffic of goods. The causeway’s efforts to increase operational capacity have resulted in a 50% increase, with a rate of 2,500 vehicles per hour crossing the causeway.

During his visit, Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad was briefed on the causeway’s facilities and inspected Bahrain’s side of the customs sections. He commended the staff for their hard work and highlighted the improvements made to streamline processes and enhance the overall experience for travelers. The daily transit rate during weekdays has reached 39,000 vehicles and trucks in both directions, showcasing the effectiveness of the initiatives implemented by Customs Affairs.
