Ministry organizes ‘White Sails’ event to commemorate World Tourism Day

The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism in Sur recently organized a tourism event called the ‘White Sails’ to celebrate World Tourism Day with the theme of “Tourism and Peace.” This event was part of the executive programme of Sur as Arab Capital for Tourism 2024. The two-day event highlighted the importance of tourism in promoting world peace and fostering mutual understanding among nations. It also showcased the maritime history of the Wilayat of Sur and its role in spreading the culture of peace and enhancing trade relations with other countries.

The ‘White Sails’ celebration featured a variety of activities, with a focus on heritage and ship making crafts. One of the highlights of the event was the White Sails Theatre, which hosted heritage art shows and a seminar on cultural and tourism exchanges and their impact on world peace. Workshops on traditional ship making were also included in the program, providing attendees with a hands-on experience of this traditional craft.
