The Ministry of Labour in Qatar has recently signed a cooperation document with the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies aimed at developing job qualification programs for nationals seeking employment in the private sector. This agreement will also focus on enhancing the skills of job seekers with secondary school diplomas. The collaboration is in line with the Ministry’s goal of empowering citizens, making them competitive in the job market, and supporting national development strategies from 2024–2030. The document was signed by officials from both organizations, highlighting the commitment to preparing and training job seekers for employment in private companies through specialized training programs.

Sheikha Abdulrahman Al Badi, the Assistant Undersecretary for National Manpower Affairs in the Private Sector, emphasized the importance of this cooperation document in preparing job seekers registered in the ‘Kawader’ platform for employment in the private sector. The collaboration with the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies will provide training programs led by experts to enhance the skills and competencies of the workforce. This initiative aligns with Qatar National Vision 2030, which aims to increase national workforce participation in the private sector. By working closely with private sector companies, the Ministry of Labour aims to develop a skilled Qatari workforce to support the country’s long-term development goals.

The agreement between the Ministry of Labour and the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies includes the development and planning of training programs for Qatari nationals and the children of Qatari women. Additionally, both organizations will conduct training programs through the Excellence Centre for the public. This partnership will allow the Ministry of Labour’s Qualification Department to benefit from sharing expertise and knowledge in training, as some private sector employees will be involved in job qualification and training initiatives. The focus is on upskilling and preparing the workforce for market demands, creating a competitive advantage for job seekers in the private sector.

Overall, this collaboration between the Ministry of Labour and the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies is a significant step towards developing a skilled and competitive Qatari workforce. By providing specialized training programs and enhancing the skills of job seekers, this partnership aims to support national development strategies and increase workforce participation in the private sector. Through sharing expertise and knowledge, both organizations are committed to empowering citizens and preparing them for successful employment opportunities. This cooperation document is a testament to the dedication of Qatar towards achieving its long-term development goals and securing a prosperous future for its citizens.
