The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning has stated that the criteria for submitting housing applications will remain the same, including the monthly income calculations for applicants. The maximum income for applicants is set at BD 900 at the time of application and BD 1,200 at the time of allocation. These criteria have been in place since the issuance of Ministerial Decision (909) of 2015. Decision (900) of 2024 has amended certain provisions of the housing system, focusing on updating and verifying housing application criteria before the issuance of nomination certificates for housing units. The nomination certificate will now be considered the final step for citizens to benefit from ownership services, without further verification once the housing unit is ready for handover.

The Ministry’s measures are aimed at simplifying procedures and providing flexibility for citizens applying for ownership or financing services. These ongoing developments in housing legislation and services are part of the ministry’s efforts to streamline processes and make it easier for citizens to access housing services. The Ministry emphasized that they are continuously working on improving communication channels, with the hotline 80008001 and the National Complaints and Suggestions System “Tawasul” available for inquiries related to housing matters or any issues. It is important for citizens to be aware of these resources and utilize them for any housing-related questions or concerns they may have.
