Abdullah Ali, a 48-year-old football coach and founder of Hattrick Football Academy, is driven by his passion for the game. He offers affordable football lessons to Emirati children at a price as low as Dh16.5 per class to make the training accessible to all parents. With over 11 years of experience as a coach, talent scout, and administrator in local clubs, Abdullah started offering private sessions before establishing his academy.

Hattrick Football Academy currently operates in five locations in Dubai, catering to children aged 6 to 14. The academy aims to provide football training that is easily accessible, especially for families facing transportation challenges to distant venues. The package at the academy includes 16 training sessions a month along with a training uniform, all offered at a nominal fee of Dh265 specifically for UAE nationals.

Abdullah expands the age groups at the academy annually, with plans to introduce basketball training for girls soon. The academy focuses on creating a family-like atmosphere where parents bond during training and competitions. Coaches at Hattrick are not only selected for their technical skills but also for their ability to connect with children. The nurturing coaching approach aims to create skilled and well-rounded athletes.

While promoting health and wellness among the trainees, Abdullah also strives to instil values like commitment and sportsmanship in the players. He emphasizes the importance of physical activity to combat rising obesity rates in children resulting from sedentary lifestyles. Despite facing challenges in earning parents’ trust and securing suitable training locations, Abdullah has witnessed significant improvements in players’ fitness, gameplay, and confidence due to his coaching methods.

Parents who have enrolled their children at Hattrick Football Academy praise Abdullah for his nurturing yet firm coaching style. They appreciate the positive changes they see in their children, including respect for others and a better understanding of the importance of prayer. The supportive training environment has not only helped children improve their football skills but has also facilitated the formation of friendships among parents, creating a strong sense of community at the academy. Um Majid, one of the parents, expresses gratitude towards Abdullah for his support and the positive impact he has had on their lives.

Abdullah’s dedication and passion for football have led to the success of Hattrick Football Academy, despite facing challenges along the way. With the support of the Al-Furjan Fund, he has been able to overcome venue challenges and continue to provide quality training to young athletes in the UAE. His commitment to instilling values, promoting physical activity, and creating a supportive community environment has proven to be beneficial for both the children and parents involved with the academy.
