Look: UAE urgently evacuates 252 patients and their families from Gaza

The UAE recently conducted an urgent humanitarian initiative to evacuate 97 critically wounded people and patients from the Gaza Strip, including cancer patients in need of extensive treatment. The evacuees, along with their family members and children, were transported from Ramon Airport in Israel to Abu Dhabi, where they will receive essential medical care. This initiative was carried out in cooperation with the World Health Organisation, showcasing the UAE’s efforts to provide advanced medical care to injured Palestinians.

Reem bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation, emphasized the UAE’s commitment to supporting Palestinians during the disastrous conditions in the Gaza Strip. She highlighted the importance of working with international partners and the United Nations to intensify efforts to alleviate the humanitarian catastrophe. Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the World Health Organisation, expressed gratitude to the UAE for its support in evacuating the sick and wounded from Gaza, calling for a ceasefire to prevent further suffering.

The UAE has been actively involved in enhancing the humanitarian response provided to wounded and sick Palestinians since the crisis began. Through previous initiatives, the UAE has successfully evacuated 1,655 patients along with their family members. With the recent evacuation flight, the total number of evacuees has reached over 1,917 individuals. In addition, the UAE has sent over 40,000 tonnes of urgent aid including food, medical, and relief supplies to Northern Gaza through various means such as ships, trucks, flights, and airdrops as part of the “Bird of Goodness” campaign.

The evacuation flight from the Gaza Strip to Abu Dhabi showcases the UAE’s ongoing commitment to supporting Palestinians during times of crisis. By providing advanced medical care and essential humanitarian aid, the UAE is actively working to alleviate the suffering of the injured and sick individuals in Gaza. The collaborative efforts with international partners and the World Health Organisation demonstrate the UAE’s dedication to humanitarian causes and its willingness to provide assistance to those in need.

Through various initiatives and campaigns, the UAE has managed to evacuate a significant number of patients and their family members from the Gaza Strip, highlighting the country’s continuous efforts to support those affected by the crisis. The aid provided, including food, medical supplies, and relief materials, reflects the UAE’s commitment to addressing the urgent needs of Palestinians in distress. The humanitarian initiatives undertaken by the UAE demonstrate its leadership in responding to crises and providing crucial support to vulnerable populations.

The successful evacuation of critically wounded individuals from the Gaza Strip to Abu Dhabi is a testament to the UAE’s unwavering commitment to humanitarian causes.
