The Indian Consulate in Dubai has issued a warning to expats about fraudulent calls claiming to be from the Pravasi Bharatiya Sahayata Kendra regarding immigration matters. The consulate urged expats in Dubai and the northern emirates to be cautious about calls reflecting the Pravasi Bharatiya Sahayata Kendra telephone number: 80046342. These calls are attempts to extort money from individuals under the guise of solving non-existent immigration issues.

The Consulate emphasized in a social media post that they do not call Indian nationals for any immigration-related matters. They advised individuals not to engage with these fraudulent callers and not to transfer any money. Additionally, the Consulate clarified that they do not ask for private information, OTP, Pin numbers, or bank details. It is important for expats to be vigilant and avoid falling victim to these scams.

It is essential for expats in Dubai to stay informed and updated with the latest news. Following trustworthy news sources like KT on WhatsApp Channels can help individuals stay informed about potential scams and frauds. By staying informed and aware, expats can protect themselves from falling prey to fraudulent calls and scams targeting vulnerable individuals in the community.

Scams targeting expats in Dubai are not uncommon, and it is important for individuals to be vigilant and cautious when receiving unsolicited calls claiming to be from official entities. These fraudulent calls often try to exploit individuals by creating a sense of urgency and fear regarding immigration matters. Expats should always verify the authenticity of a call before providing any personal information or transferring money.

If individuals receive a suspicious call claiming to be from a government entity like the Indian Consulate, they should take steps to verify the authenticity of the call. This can include contacting the consulate directly through official channels to confirm the nature of the call. By taking proactive measures to verify the legitimacy of calls and not sharing any personal information, individuals can protect themselves from falling victim to scams and frauds.

In conclusion, expats in Dubai should be wary of fraudulent calls claiming to be from official entities like the Pravasi Bharatiya Sahayata Kendra. The Indian Consulate has warned individuals about these scams and advised them not to engage with fraudulent callers or transfer money. By staying informed, verifying the authenticity of calls, and avoiding sharing personal information, expats can safeguard themselves from falling prey to scams and frauds targeting vulnerable individuals in the community. It is crucial for individuals to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the relevant authorities to protect themselves and others from falling victim to fraudulent schemes.
