The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning in Bahrain has recently signed agreements with property developers Al Saraya and Al Namal to construct 123 new homes in Buhair and Hoora Sanad. These agreements are part of an initiative to create affordable housing in the Southern Governorate. Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, Amna bint Ahmed Al Rumaihi, formalized the agreements with the respective representatives of the two developers. Under the deal, Al Saraya will build 76 homes in Buhair, while Al Namal will construct 47 units in Hoora Sanad. These projects are in line with directives from Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa to maximize the use of public land for housing.

The newly announced developments bring the total number of projects launched under the program to four, including the Suhail housing project in Al Lawzi and ongoing work in Salman City. Al Saraya’s development in Buhair will cover 20,000 square meters, while Al Namal’s Hoora Sanad project will span 10,000 square meters. Both projects are specifically designed to provide homes for beneficiaries of the ministry’s housing financing program. Representatives from both Al Saraya and Al Namal expressed their enthusiasm for collaborating with the government, emphasizing the success of public-private partnerships in delivering affordable housing solutions. The Government Land Development Rights Program is expected to bring forth more projects in the future.

The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning’s initiative to create affordable housing in the Southern Governorate of Bahrain is a crucial step towards providing suitable living spaces for the residents. By partnering with prominent property developers like Al Saraya and Al Namal, the ministry aims to leverage public land for the construction of much-needed homes. The continuous efforts to launch new housing projects underscore the government’s commitment to addressing the housing needs of its citizens. The projects not only contribute to the development of the real estate sector but also provide opportunities for individuals seeking housing financing through the ministry’s programs.

The collaborative approach between the government and private developers in the construction of affordable housing projects sets a positive example for other regions facing similar challenges. The success of projects like the Suhail housing project in Al Lawzi and ongoing work in Salman City demonstrates the effectiveness of public-private partnerships in delivering quality housing solutions. By leveraging the expertise and resources of private developers, the government can optimize the use of public land and accelerate the construction of housing units for eligible beneficiaries. The commitment of developers like Al Saraya and Al Namal to contribute to the affordable housing sector reflects a shared vision of addressing the housing needs of the community.

As the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning continues to expand its housing projects in the Southern Governorate, more opportunities for affordable housing are likely to emerge. The signing of agreements with Al Saraya and Al Namal for the construction of 123 new homes signifies a significant step towards achieving the housing goals set by the government. Through strategic partnerships with developers and stakeholders, the ministry can not only increase the supply of affordable housing but also promote sustainable urban development. By prioritizing the construction of homes for beneficiaries of housing financing programs, the government aims to ensure that all citizens have access to decent and affordable housing options. The future looks promising for the affordable housing sector in Bahrain with more projects expected to follow under the Government Land Development Rights Program.
