The Directorate General of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources in Dhofar Governorate is actively involved in overseeing the implementation of the first phase of the ginger cultivation project in the Wilayats of Rakhyut and Dhalkut with support from the Agricultural and Fisheries Development Fund. This project involves 30 farmers who started cultivating ginger on 3 acres of land in June 2024, with an expected harvest of between 20 and 30 tonnes. The first season of ginger cultivation is set to last for 8 to 9 months until the scheduled harvest in February 2025.
