If you find yourself in a situation where you need to request a refund for government services or fix a payment mistake in the UAE, don’t worry as the process is straightforward and simple. Government entities in the country have auto-refund services in place, making the process easy and convenient. This article provides a simple guide to help you navigate the refund process for various government services.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Mofa) in the UAE is a popular choice for residents who need document attestation services. If you accidentally overpaid for this service, you can request a refund by visiting the Mofa website, filling out the application form, and providing the necessary documents. Once your request is approved, the refund will be credited to your bank account within five working days.

The Ministry of Justice offers services such as passport and residence renewal applications, fine difference refunds, and more. To request a refund for a payment mistake, you can visit the refund portal, log in or register, enter your URN number and transaction details, and provide your bank account information. Your refund request will be processed once all requirements are met.

For issues related to the Ministry of Finance, you can submit an online request for a refund on the Ministry’s website. Fill out the online application form and attach the necessary documents. If your request is approved, the refund will be processed through a bank transfer within five working days.

The Ministry of Human Resources & Emiratisation offers an Auto-Refund service for refunds related to employment and residency services. To request a refund, log in through your Emirates ID or UAE Pass, submit a refund request, attach the required documents, and wait for approval. The refund will be credited to your bank account within five working days.

Emirates Health Services provides healthcare services for citizens and residents in the UAE. To request a refund related to medical treatment or examination fees, visit the EHS website, log in or register, and provide the necessary documents. Depending on the type of refund, you may need to submit different documents such as a letter from the hospital, payment receipts, and bank account details.

In Dubai, residents can request refunds for fines or fees through the Dubai Municipality website. Log in with your Emirates ID or UAE Pass, fill in your details, and submit the refund request. Make sure to include a letter requesting the refund and a copy of the payment receipt. If approved, the refund will be transferred to your account on the first week of the following month.

Abu Dhabi residents can request refunds for incorrect transactions through the ‘Request a Refund of Fees and Amounts’ service on the TAMM website. Provide your IBAN, receipt number, phone number, and other required documents. Once everything is submitted, you will receive a refund approval message, and the refund will be credited to your bank account within five working days.
