Emirates airlines has resumed daily passenger services in Lagos after a two-year suspension of operations at the popular African destination. The airline restarted operations on October 1, with the first flight landing at Murtala Muhammad International Airport. Passengers can catch a daily flight from Dubai at 9.45am, arriving in Lagos at 3.20pm, with a return flight at 5.30pm landing in Dubai at 5.10am the following day. The daily service has been optimized to streamline business and leisure travel to and from Nigeria by connecting to key points in Europe, the US, Far East, and the wider Middle East and GCC.

Emirates will also facilitate 48 and 96-hour Dubai visa applications for travelers from Nigeria. The Dubai-Lagos service is operated with a Boeing 777-300ER, offering First Class suites, Business class seats, and economy class seats. To celebrate the resumption of services, Emirates’ loyalty programme, Skywards, reinstated previous tier status levels for members. Adnan Kazim, Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer at Emirates Airline, expressed excitement about resuming operations in Lagos and reconnecting travelers seamlessly through Dubai with a world-class experience onboard.

The resumption of operations to Lagos strengthens business ties and provides frictionless connectivity to one of Africa’s major economic hubs, in line with the UAE and Nigeria’s strong bilateral trade relations. Emirates SkyCargo will support Nigerian businesses by offering more than 300 tonnes of bellyhold cargo capacity every week into key markets such as UAE, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and Bahrain. Anticipated commodities like Kola Nuts, food and beverages, and urgent courier material will be transported via the state-of-the-art hub in Dubai efficiently and reliably. Imports into Nigeria are anticipated from key markets such as UAE, India, and Hong Kong, including general cargo, pharmaceuticals, and electronics.

The resumption of Emirates airlines’ daily passenger services in Lagos strengthens business links and facilitates global trade with frictionless connectivity. With optimized connections to key destinations, Emirates empowers business and leisure travelers to and from Nigeria. The airline’s support for Nigerian businesses through Emirates SkyCargo showcases a commitment to providing reliable cargo services and supporting economic growth. The exclusive Dubai visa application offer for travelers from Nigeria further enhances the travel experience with Emirates, ensuring a seamless journey for passengers. The reinstatement of tier status levels for Skywards members highlights Emirates’ commitment to customer loyalty and satisfaction. Overall, Emirates’ resumption of operations in Lagos marks a significant milestone in reconnecting travelers to and through Dubai while strengthening business ties and facilitating global trade.
