The Embassy of India in Muscat, in collaboration with Malayala Manorama, organized an India-Oman B2B Meet on Healthcare at the Embassy on 23 September 2024, bringing together 26 prominent Indian hospitals participating in the Oman Health Exhibition and Conference (OHEC) at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre. Dr. Waleed Khalid Zadjali, President of the Oman Medical Association, was the Chief Guest, and Dr. Rashid bin Mohammed Al Alawi, Director General of the General Directorate of Khoula Hospital, and Dr. Khalid Al Rasadi, Director of Medical Research Center, SQU, College of Medicine & Health Sciences, were the Guests of Honor. The event was attended by senior doctors and medical professionals from major hospitals in Muscat, providing a platform to discuss expanding medical tourism and leveraging India’s strengths in cost-effective, high-quality treatment.

H.E. Amit Narang, Ambassador of India to the Sultanate of Oman, highlighted the growing collaboration in the healthcare sector between India and Oman, emphasizing the potential to enhance medical tourism and forge stronger healthcare partnerships. India has become a preferred destination for patients worldwide, including those from Oman, due to its world-class yet affordable medical care. The healthcare system in India is supported by skilled professionals, short waiting times, and streamlined visa procedures for medical tourists, offering comprehensive care that continues to attract Omani citizens. The B2B meeting facilitated valuable exchanges between the healthcare industries of both countries, paving the way for further cooperation.

The India-Oman B2B Meet on Healthcare served as a significant step towards strengthening healthcare collaborations between the two countries, with a focus on enhancing medical tourism and sharing expertise. The event provided a platform for discussions on expanding healthcare partnerships and leveraging India’s strengths in cost-effective, high-quality treatment. With India’s expertise in delivering advanced healthcare services showcased at the Oman Health Exhibition and Conference through the Indian Pavilion, the collaboration between Indian and Omani healthcare industries is expected to grow further, benefiting both countries and promoting medical tourism.
